The QPQ surface treatment, is a thermochemical process for enhancing and modifying metal surfaces. It integrates nitriding and oxidaƟon stages, combining heat treatment with corrosion protecƟon. This technology significantly improves a component's wear, corrosion, and faƟgue resistance. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of mulƟ-layer Cu-Ni-Cr plaƟng. Siding wear tests demonstrate that QPQ-treated parts exhibit superior wear resistance and seawater corrosion resistance compared to those subjected to black oxide finishing.
